Description

This Vietnam War genuine Year 1973 high polish Zippo slim lighter is in excellent condition with nice click, strong cam spring and good snap. Matching Zippo insert has a new flint. It sparks and just needs Zippo fluid. In the front, it features inscription LONG HAI 1970 VIETNAM and USSF SFOD B-36. In the back inscribed phrase reads:
"THE QUALITY
OF MERCY
IS NOT
STRAINED"

During Vietnam War in 1970, US 5th Special Forces Group established several combat training programs for ARVN military personnel. One center was located at
LONG HAI, the base of Special Forces Operational Detachment SFOD B-36
and another at DONG BA THIN, base of SFOD B-51. Originally known as FANK (Forces Armee Nationales Khmeres) training command, it was later re-designated as USARV Individual Training Group (UITG)
in 1971.
