1. Recommendation that PFC-E3 DeMauro be awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious and heroic service - Dated Aug. 1968:
The document describes how he risked his life under machine gun fire to save his superior (SP4-E4 Robert T. Johnson) from a burning vehicle.  Besides the Bronze Star, it is requested that he be promoted on rank [to Corporal SP4-E4].
2. War Trophy Registration/Authorization - Dated Sept. 1968:
The document is for the same PFC DeMauro, and it pertains to a Viet Cong fighting ax with black canvas case.   It is also evidence that DeMauro did indeed get promoted as he well deserved, because he is now listed at the E4 grade/rank.

TO BE CLEAR: THESE ARE VINTAGE COPIES OF THE ORIGINAL TYPEWRITTEN DOCUMENTS.  They are from the estate of a wartime memorabilia collector.  There is no indication of when the copies were made.
