    Description

This little dog figurine was made and hand painted in post-war Japan.  It has been in my ceramic dog collection for many years.  I originally bought it and have kept it because I felt sorry for it.  It has some manufacturing flaws.
So, you wonder why I'm even listing him... Here's my story:  I am listing him because I believe there is someone out there like me who loves art for its flaws and
    imperfections
.  Someone (maybe as long ago as 70 years) had a job to
    embellish
this little ceramic dog figure. Was it a child, an elderly person, a person with very poor eyesight? Someone most likely did the best of their ability to enhance his features and earn a days pay.  So, to me that is special, and I appreciate his flaws.
The first obvious flaw is that who-ever did the hand painting must have either had a jittery hand or had poor eyesight.   This puppy has very crossed eyes..one is actually painted outside the eye ring.
He also only has one little black nostril.
The other obvious flaw is there is a little
    divot
on his left cheek that looks like it was done when he was manufactured.
Other than that age has caused some of the red paint on his red bow to rub off. and there are a few areas on his body (left ear and left hip that have a little paint worn off or maybe never got on right.)
From smoke free environment (my own ceramic dog collection that I am down-sizing and rehoming)
We do not ship Internationally.  U.S. shipping only.
He is approximately 2 1/4 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches deep (front to back)
There is a very faint "Japan" marked on his underside.
