    Description

    RARE 18th century surveyor's side bubble level by Lenoir - no theodolite
    signature on the instrument: "Lenoir"
    manufacturing date: last quarter of the 18th century
    Instrument with  astronomical telescope , opening 15 mm, length 27 cm; bubble level about 15 cm;
    Unusual instrument consisting of an astronomical telescope and a bubble level, removables.
    The aforementioned elements are installed on a plate, using the special supports and held in position by a tie.
    Through the action of two pairs of opposing screws, longitudinal and transverse rotational movements can be impressed on the rectangular plate,
    around its axes. With these movements we can center the bubble levelplaced on side to the telescope .
    The focus (distance adaptation) is obtained by manually varying the length of the telescope from the objective side; for adaptation to sight, you must use the eyepiece.
