Motor Wheel Vintage Chrome Wheels Hot Flash Slots 15” Rims.
Put these on your car and you won’t have to worry about seeing someone else roll up with the same wheels you have. The Hot Flash series of wheels from Motor Wheel are seldom seen, but this pair is available in superb condition. Motor Wheel's chrome plating was first rate. The magazine ad is from 1975 and I don't believe these were made for very many years. Motor Wheel supplied lots of OE wheels for the automakers and tried to get into the aftermarket, too. Their Magnum 500, Spyder and Exiter wheels were some examples of their aftermarket wheels.
The story on these is that they were last used in the mid-1980s on a race car, then stored away in a garage after that. Fortunately, they were not drilled for slicks like happens to so many wheels that see race duty. They are in extremely nice condition with only the most minor patina and a few freckles. Not perfect, but really nice. Very clean and you can tell they were not used much. The chrome is nice and shiny and will look great on a wide range of cars. Shiny enough that I had a hard time taking pictures of them. And the 4.25” backspace will let you tuck nice, meaty tires on your car.
Includes correct center caps which are somewhat unusual, too. I haven’t seen many of this style caps but the others I’ve seen have all have been silver. These are a gold tone. Pretty sure they're not repainted- they look factory original. Minor fading but not bad.
