This mask of Lt. William Calley of the My Lai Massacre was distributed at a protest rally in Washington D.C. April 27, 1971, involving Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW). Although it has been preserved in an estate, it has aged and suffered some light stains and creases along its edges. The original elastic band remains intact but is no longer as elastic. The person who wore or carried the mask in the protest is the only owner. Her husband was a Vietnam veteran. This mask is an original, not a reproduction. It has the history.
