Korea Vietnam BLACK Soldier Archive 11 82 Airborne Ranger Pistol Team Bag Photos. Came from the estate of Albert R. Gibson, an African American soldier who served in the US Army from 1951-1971. His family kept some items like his Purple Heart medal etc, but this is everything they didnt keep. Nothing was cherry picked out of it. The man was a paratrooper and served with distinction based on his medals and citations etc. Included are 2 uniform jackets with Airborne/ Ranger/ President's Hundred patches on them, lots of photos, some glued to album pages, Certificates including Purple Heart, various Airborne, a large framed one in Vietnamese (glass cracked), his knife in leather sheath with his name engraved, his wallet full of cards and photo, his watch with compass which Im sure he was wearing when he parachuted. A bunch of uniform pieces with patches, medals and insignia- some I believe are sterling- 2 medals are a later issue. Some have 2 or 4 battle stars. 2 medals have his name on the back (top right two) the others do not. Hat badge from US Army Pistol Team, winner award from the 82nd Airborne Division pistol team competition. Really awesome pistol team leather carrying bag (no handle) from Vietnam 1967-1968 has some great artwork on both sides- the one side says 5th Special Forces Airborne. Please take a look at the pics as it's tough to show everything in 12 photos. Some of these items are in excellent shape, but certain things do have normal usage wear as you can see. Uniform jackets have some light brown spotting on the top/ collars. Bag has some wear. Really nice archive of material from a career African American US Army Vietnam Combat Veteran.
