    vintage Joule's Mechanical Equivalent of Heat Apparatus
    -- Rotary Vane Calorimeter with electric motor and counters -- likely dates to the 1920s period / possibly made by the Wm. Gaertner Scientific Co. -- includes a double wall brass inner chamber with weighted composite top lid and brass rotary vanes, with a wood base -- powered by a Merit 1/4 hp 115V DC Motor -- base measures 10 1/2 by 20 1/2 in. - the calorimeter measures 9 in. wide by 10 in . high --
