    Gerardo Luigi "Jerry" Colonna was an American
    comedian, composer, songwriter and
    trombonist with pop-eyed facial expressions, a piercing tenor voice and walrus-sized handlebar
    mustache. He was perhaps the zaniest of Bob Hope's sidekicks in Hope's radio shows of the
    1940s and 1950s and was featured in three of the Bob Hope-Bing Crosby road films including
    Road to Singapore
    (1940). Played the March Hare in the 1951 animated film version of
    Alice
    in Wonderland
    .
