Helmet Cover Vietnam Mitchell pattern original mid 1965 dated needs work (MIT14)

This is an original as found US M-1 helmet
cover
. This the Vietnam era Mitchell pattern cover and is mid 1965 dated. This is the real thing and has a very nice patina and wear pattern. It has normal wear. This has a piece missing out of it. When I installed it normally on the display helmet the piece was pretty much covered up. The cover can be adjusted to totally cover it up if wanted. (see pictures)  This has not seen the light of day in 40+ years. It is just out of long term storage. We took a couple of pictures with the cover mounted on a helmet (

) where you can see the wear and patina. The first couple of pictures are of the cover off the helmet. Don't miss a good original.
