Description
Interesting group to say the least, original log book starting 1967, and his helicopter helmet and carrying bag. Estate pieces, my take is for his original log book, helmet and bag perhaps later, but I'll snap all S/N's and ID's. This auction is for the Gentex FSCM 97427 helmet with all avionics as pictured, last inspection 30 NOV, '03.....looks like it passes, his original BAG, FLYER'S, HELMET, and his Navy issue log book, 1967-1971, logging 1302.1 hours over a mind numbing variety of aircraft, air planes and helicopters including, but not limited to: Sikorsky H-34, Sikorsky UH-34D C-117D (R4D-8) Skytrain Lockheed AP-2H Neptune Lockheed C-121 Constellation Grumman HU-16 Albatross Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight Fokker F28 Fellowship Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King, also with a recent civilian log book, all SEL hours. Everything is in good shape, helmet could fly today, no chips or cracks, avionics look 100%, clean twin light and dark visors; bag, less 1/4 inch pull to inside pocket with no rips or damage, log books fine condition. I'm going to keep the name private, although give me a name and I can confirm or deny. If return address is a museum, I will share all info I have. Pilot was military active until at least 2003, as he got an ARCOM medal for service in that year. Not sure if he was in country in Viet Nam, if someone sends me a site, I will be happy to look up his service through name or #. Apologies if I missed anything, just had a particularly lousy Memorial Day, I think I will be getting rid of a lot of my military stuff, stay tuned. I'll ballpark shipping costs, but I ship at cost for anything, rebate if ebay over invoices. Questions welcomed, I do want to find this group a good home. BTW, if the buyer is a military museum, a/o I am shipping to one, the shipping is free, the least I can do.Interesting group to say the least, original log book starting 1967, and his helicopter helmet and carrying bag.
