    Description

    Here we have a collectable brass French octagonal compass sundial, early 18th century, the horizontal plate engraved with hour scales, the recessed compass with lock, the folding gnomon with a bird support, the reverse engraved with latitudes of continental European cities, 7.3 cm (2 1/2" x 2 3/4") long, being a Butterfield type sundial in outstanding condition, and comes with the red velvet lined case, with closure brass hooks and brass hinge as see in the photos.
