    Description

    Natural dark chocolate brown patina with
    shallow pitting on much of the obverse, smooth reverse with some faint hairline scratches. The bisecting obverse die crack is strong. Struck over another unidentified coin (most likely a Connecticut) with an "N" visible where the date should be at the bottom of the reverse, although the "88" from the date remains faintly visible.
    The ET LIB * * INDE type (see page 68 in the "Redbook"), a
    tough variety and type. Weight 99.5 grains.
