    Description

1763 Silver Peace Medal End of French Indian War
We have a scarce and popular peace treaty medal dated 1763 here. This is Betts 446, Messenger of Peace Medal. Although this medal is indirectly related to French-Indian War and Treaty of Paris, the Treaty of Hubertusburg did end the war on the Continent and North America. For that reason, this peace medal is sought after by those students of history, as well as by those who collect period militaria. After all, no medals or coins were struck here in colonial America to commemorate any of the peace treaties.
Our piece here measures 44mm struck in silver. It is in high grade. Looks to have been cleaned once with some minor hairlines. Nice piece!
