A seldom seen large early electric bell. The bell itself is 10" in diameter!
The plating on the bell has come off in a few spots but polished, it would not be noticeable.
The coils are good and the bell is working. Tested on 6vdc and barley runs so most likely the operating voltage was 12-24v originally. It is not marked as to the operating voltage.
There are a few paint splatters on the base as typical with old items.
The connecting wires underneath are covered in rubber tubing and the tubing is brittle and cracking with age but does not affect the operation.
Unknown as to its actual designed use but most likely it was for a large space like a factory or fire station where it could be heard.
