Hoboken, Jersey City earn perfect scores on LGBTQ+ assessment — again

Hoboken and Jersey City are among the record-breaking 130 cities nationwide that registered a perfect 100 score on the 2024 assessment LGBTQ+ equality in municipal law, policies and services.
For Jersey City, it’s the 12th straight perfect score on the annual Municipal Equality Index (MEI), conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Hoboken ran its perfect score streak to seven years.
Some 506 cities across the United States were evaluated based on non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement, and leadership on LGBTQ+ equality.
